The History of IN The Grill Room with Bob & Jay

Janis Self is the Executive Producer/Producer of The Grill Room and has been in that position since the Tournament Radio Broadcasting/World Golf Radio formation in 1995.

Janis has been Bob's producer throughout and was Broadcast Manager/On-Site Producer for PGA TOUR Radio for the first four years of it's operation traveling 44 weeks per golf season.

The Grill Room started out in 2010 and has seen a vast change in the technical aspects of producing golf shows from a non-studio situation from 2005 until present day.

Having played golf since the age of seven and having traveled the world doing so with an eventual 2 handicap, Janis possesses a golf knowledge acquired through first hand experience in both club golf and high level amateur tournament golf on a worldwide stage.

The Grill Room, a property of Tournament Radio Broadcasting LLC,  has been in existence since 2010. TGR was a top rated Saturday morning show on SiriusXM for 4 years before switching over to TuneIn, AudioBoom, Soundcloud and on our own website. Transitions Optical was the Title Sponsor for 3 of those years with various other notable partners after that.

At the end of 2016, TGR underwent a total re-do. Jay Randolph Jr came on board as co-host and the tenor of the show changed to positive and upbeat. Bob and Jay excel in content and product integration as they are both not only golfers of some note in years past but also very experienced "radio" guys in the world of golf broadcasting.
