Adorned with a Bib Gourmand award and existing for nearly a century in Hong Kong, Kau Kee is famous for its simple yet delicious dish of braised beef brisket noodle soup.

Kau Kee does not accept reservations, is open for 10 hours from 12:30PM every day except Sunday, and mainly serves one item, with some variation. The beef brisket in broth (HKD70) can be enjoyed with either e-fu, flat, vermicelli, or rice noodles.

Noticeably since Hong Kong has welcomed back its international tourists, you will have to join the crowd to stand in line for up to 1.5 hours to secure a place at the beef brisket shop.

The restaurant only accepts Hong Kong dollars, not credit cards, Alipay, or WeChat Pay. Their tender beef brisket and salty broth holds its weight in the city rankings of beef brisket soup noodles, but a long queue will likely stand in the way before your belly is pleased.
