Prince Edward is the often-ignored area suiting a bar experience with which Hong Kong’s typical haunts cannot compete. If you’re tired of Soho, Tsim Sha Tsui, or Wan Chai for a night out, make your way up the Tsuen Wan Line to this underrated locale in Kowloon.

The neighbourhood’s Sai Yeung Choi Street North and Tung Choi Street hold a string of nearly two dozen street-level beer and cocktail bars that emanate unbothered yet cool vibes.

Darts, pool, Chinese and Taiwanese karaoke, and drinking games can be enjoyed at most of the watering holes, which offer a wide variety of Japanese, European, and American beer, whisky, cocktails, and affordable wine.

The bars we recommend visiting are MaltCask, Metal Bar, Bliss Bar, LUXE, and The Brewery.

You might even begin in Prince Edward before finishing the night in Jordan with refreshing drinks atop the rooftop of Terrible Baby, before getting the last train home at 12:50AM.
