The boodle fight karaoke brunch at Barkada is the highlight of the Filipino hotspot’s eight-day Barrio Fiesta this month, a celebration of Philippines Independence Day.

On Jun. 15 from 12PM, Barkada is putting on a 3.5-hour communal brunch session where beef tapa, lechon kawali, chicken lumpia, tuna kinilaw, and lots more Filipino eats will be served across the table piled atop banana leaves. The idea of a traditional boodle flight is to dig in and get your hands dirty, relishing in the camaraderie.

Priced at HKD488 per person, free-flow can be added at HKD80 for non-alcoholic beverages and HKD200 to include alcohol. Post-boodle fight, the karaoke – another national pastime in the Philippines – gets into full swing from 2PM.

Barkaka’s Barrio Fiesta kicks off tomorrow, Jun. 12, with live music by Iris Pascual from 7:30PM. Accompanying the tunes is a late-night happy hour, with San Miguel and Red Horse draught beer priced at just HKD50 till midnight.

The Independence Day festivities culminate on Jun. 20 from 8PM with a bartender party paying tribute to the talented Filipino mixologists who make up the fabric of Hong Kong’s bar community. These bartenders will be shaking up Filipino-inspired cocktails on the night. The tipples can be paired with funky one-night-only food specials like sisig tacos, longganisa sliders, and Filipino pan-fried lasagne.
