A new restaurant from Japan has landed in Central where muscles of all forms are appreciated, pairing up beefy strongmen and top-quality Wagyu.

Yakiniku Horumon Matchan, the first overseas branch of the Michelin-recommended yakiniku restaurant in Nara and Osaka, invites diners to salivate over the hunky wait staff and chefs who dish out rare and cooked Wagyu beef dishes on Gough Street.

The beefy affairs at Yakiniku Horumon Matchan are strong. We recommending ordering the assorted Wagyu beef sashimi (HKD228), salt-grilled Wagyu tongue (HKD148), sukiyaki-style Wagyu loin (HKD138), and Wagyu hamburger steak (HKD88).

An assortment of lemon and lime sour drinks, whisky soda, beer, and fruit liquor are also available at the restaurant.

For those eager to match the strength of the eatery’s waiters, head to the restaurant at 6:30PM or 8PM nightly to complete the Kensui Challenge. Male competitors who can do three, six, or nine consecutive pull-ups will win one tongue backside for the table, one serving of mixed meat for six, or one Wagyu loin block for nine.  Female competitors need to complete two, four, and six pull-ups respectively.
