The Cakery

The Cakery Hong Kong mooncakes

Treats don’t count if they’re made from superfoods… right? At least that’s our mentality when it comes to scarfing down these delicious vegan, gluten-free and artificial-colouring-free mooncakes from The Cakery. We literally had a “we can’t believe it’s vegan” moment when we sunk our teeth into the four lively flavours on offer this year, ranging from lemon and yuzu, to red date and mixed nuts, to oolong and peach, to black sesame. Packed with superfood ingredients the likes of pink pitaya powder, turmeric and pumpkin seeds, these (almost) guilt-free cakes come in a minimalist wooden box wrapped in a pretty scarf inspired by Pantone’s 2020 Colour of the Year, Classic Blue.

In another twist, Jouer’s Mid-Autumn macarons have traditional mooncake flavours such as white lotus, custard and taro jam.
