Australian-Malaysian chef Gavin Chin opened his doors wide today (14 November) at House of Culture, Sai Ying Pun’s newest dining destination for local ‘Puners and gourmands.

Landing in Hong Kong in 2017 from Perth on the sunny coast of Western Australia, Gavin began in the kitchen at Black Sheep’s boozy izakaya Fukuro, before joining Brut! as Head Chef to develop the wine bar’s food programme.

The menu at House of Culture focuses on regional influences from Gavin’s youth, as well as his culinary journey, featuring classic Malaysian curries and Australian street classics, imported wines from Australia and “interesting cocktails”, Gavin writes on Instagram.
