The McGriddle sandwich is a piece of edible lore in the global McDonald’s empire that has beckoned a cultish love across two decades.

Introduced in 2003, the sandwich, consisting of bacon, scrambled egg, American cheese, and two maple-flavoured griddled pancakes, has been sold in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, New Zealand, Singapore, Philippines, Japan, Turkey, and Poland.

Hong Kong has never got a taste of this brekkie sandwich – until now. Cheung Sha Wan-based breakfast and coffee shop Coffee Question has come out with their own version of the McGriddle.

Featuring a golden, fluffy slab of scrambled egg, thick Canadian bacon, pork patty, and mayonnaise spread, the Hong Kong replica is sandwiched together with bouncy, honeyed hotcakes. On their menu, the replica is named the ? Coffee Griddles (HKD48).

We suggest you run, not walk, to Coffee Question to sample the McD’s-inspired item, before the café stops selling it.
