An extension of classic British Magistracy Dining Room, Botanical Garden is a top spot for an al-fresco tipple or two, in particular one of the gin and tonics from the lush bar’s varied selection.
The gin and tonic stakes are even higher now that Botanical Garden has introduced a range of London Dry newcomers with flavour profiles of citrus, floral, herbal, and spiced.
A fragrant floral favourite is Mermaid (HKD118), made with cucumber and elderflower tonic. For a spiced option, there’s Oxley (HKD148), featuring a light tonic and grapefruit wheel garnish.
Complementing the cocktails is a refreshed menu of British small bites by Magistracy Dining Room’s head chef, Alyn Williams. Diners can tuck into the likes of smoked haddock fritters (HKD108), Quality Chop House confit potatoes (HKD58), and Smokin’ Brothers thick-cut Scottish smoked salmon (HKD388).
In need of something a bit more substantial? Chef Alyn’s sandwiches at Botanical Garden hit the spot, from the prawn mayo toasted brioche (HKD388), to the ploughman’s toasted sandwich (HKD208) with mature Cheddar, salad, and Branston Pickle, to The Beefeater (HKD208), a heavy hitter of prime rib, Gruyère, caramelised onion, and horseradish cream.
The Beefeater and ploughman’s sarnies can also be ordered as part of a set lunch (HKD288), along with salad and confit potatoes, daily from 12PM.
