What happens when you blend (arguably) Southeast Asia’s favourite rice dish with cake? You get the very-real and purchasable Hainanese chicken rice cake, sold at this Wan Chai hotel.

Available at the Grand Cafe inside the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, the Hainanese chicken rice cake is made with a base layer of rice and topped with poached yellow chicken. Decorations of cucumber line the circumference of the cake and yellow and red tomatoes top the cake.

And if that is not enough, green scallion and garlic, dark soy sauce, and sweet chilli sauce is paired up to strike authenticity.

The cakes come in three sizes: 300g (HKD488), 750g (HKD688), and 1kg (988). Orders must be placed one day prior to pick up time, collected at the Chocolatier on the  Mezzanine Floor of the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
