As Hong Kong is going seemingly matcha mad, the city’s favourite Japanese bakery, A-1 Bakery, has launched an exclusive matcha pastry series featuring four cute creations, available till May 31.

The latest pastry series is hitting stores with four types of bread treats made with matcha from Uji, Kyoto, Japan’s matcha capital. Finished with a fine matcha dusting, the matcha roll with black bean & mochi (HKD20) is a layered creation, with milky sweetness emanating from the cream rolled in the layers. Equally, the matcha filling donut (HKD18) sees a heavy dollop of matcha oozing out of the fluffy pastry.

The soft-textured matcha chocolate cream koppepan (HKD20) matches bitter and sweet tones with chocolate and matcha cream. The French-meets-Japanese matcha croissant with mochi (HKD20) is layered with thick butter, mochi, and matcha powder.

Buy your matcha pastries from A-Bakery’s online shop here or head to one of their locations across Hong Kong.
