We’ve likely all heard of high tea, but have you heard of high coffee?
One of our favourite afternoon tea spots, Popinjays at The Murray, has launched Hong Kong’s first-ever high coffee in partnership with the coffee experts over at NOC Coffee Co. This teatime treat includes delightful sweet and savoury bites – many of which feature coffee as a prominent ingredient – as well as premium artisanal pourovers and NOC’s No. 18 canned cold brew.
Priced at $678 for two, this afternoon “tea” is for those serious about their caffeine fix. Some of the food highlights include the indulgent duck foie gras confit and coffee gelée on toasted brioche, the beautiful gianduja chocolate and hazelnut and the light and flaky vanilla and chocolate croiscone – a lovely croissant and scone hybrid.
Included in the set is a selection of tea and coffee as well as the Ethiopia Anasora Samii pourover, which has fruity tasting notes of bergamot, lychee and maple syrup. For more intense, richer flavours, be sure to order the Panama Ninety Plus Perci Geisha pourover (+$128 for 2).
Available daily from 3:30–5:30pm until 30 September 2020.
