Love brunch? Love dim sum? At its grand harbourfront space at ifc mall, Chinesology is combining the two with a new brunch menu (HKD588 pp) themed around nostalgic dim sum bites dating back to the 80s.

The brunch menu has been designed by chef Saito Chau, who also oversees newcomer Mue Mue, a modern Thai-Chinese restaurant at Mira Place. The menu’s draw is definitely the 11 free-flow dim sum and eight desserts on offer. We dug into several rounds of siu mai with quail egg, shrimp spring rolls, black sesame glutinous rice rolls, bright green tragacanth gum and pistachio soup, and more yum cha treats.

Also included is a “Five Fortune” appetiser platter to whet the palate, sea cucumber, winter melon, bamboo fungus, carrot oil, and chicken oil superior soup, and your choice from a trio of main courses: lobster with sakura-shrimp sauce and handmade rice-flour rolls, free-range chicken with wild mushroom, lotus root, and chives, and premium dried abalone with goose web and secret-recipe sauce (+HKD298).

Chinesology’s free-flow drinks package (HKD288 pp) ups the ante with sparkling and still French wine pours, signature East-meets-West cocktails and mocktails, herbal tea, and orange juice.
