Washed in bright yellow and blue shades, the experimental art-forward restaurant chain MONMONO announced Saturday (Aug. 3) the closure of both Central and Tsim Sha Tsui restaurants until further notice.
The announcement was made on Instagram thanking their customers for their “support and understanding” and apologised for “any inconvenience caused.”
Opened by architect Alvan Suen, both the regal blue Tsim Sha Tsui branch and yellow Central restaurant began operations in the summer of 2022, serving a mix of Japanese, Spanish, and Mediterranean flavours.
A message shared to guests on Montage Group’s website, the company behind MONMONO, elucidated “Monmono as an art project instead of a typical restaurant, and it was born to be the MONTAGE of Interesting Spaces, Creative Art Pieces, Tuneful Melodies, Delicious Food and Beverage and Unique Experience.”
“Given the fact that dining takes a significant part of the human’s basic necessities of life, we wish to provide spaces that not only fulfil people’s needs in the food itself but with much greater satisfaction.”
