The famed Shatin Inn Restaurant, a local haunt cherished by both Sha Tin residents and celebrities, is closing in late September following six decades of service.

Citing poor business this year amidst the economic downtown and increased border visits to Shenzhen, the restaurant is shutting down at the end of next month.

The eatery, popular for its satay skewers and leafy al-fresco location, gained a foothold in the food scene after starring in a number of Hong Kong films from the 1960s through the 1990s, including Chow Yun-fat’s 1989 drama All About Ah-Long

If you’re eager to support the F&B industry in the area, Sha Tin 18 at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Sha Tin is a restaurant fitting for your exploration of traditional Peking duck.
